As a surfer we care about others and the environment, especially the oceans. And, it’s natural to want to help the remote regions of the world connected to us through surfing, while learning more about what we all can do to move the needle towards a more sustainable surf industry. Just in case that’s not enough, SurfAid has teamed up with the Quiksilver Foundation, Quiksilver Travel and San Diego State University’s Center for Surf Research to send you there to learn for yourself.

Present in the Quiksilver Foundation tent during the Roxy Pro in last July, Skeleton Sea is an artist group who is really involved for the protection of a clean ocean. In order to make people aware of the situation, they choose art and overall sculpture to express their feelings. The Roxy Pro was the occasion to present one of their pieces, the Albatros, entirely made with trash found on the beaches and in the ocean. The Albatros is now going around the world following the volvo ocean race.
Besides, Xandi, one of the artists of Skeleton Sea, created during the competition a Roxy mermaid with flip flops found on beaches! She is currently exhibited in Spain.
